Where we started
For years, courts, agencies, and law firms have carried out complex responsibilities. However, the systems supporting them have often made the work harder than it needed to be. Manual processes and outdated technology slowed work down. Nowadays, systems are built as fixed solutions that organizations must adapt to, instead of technology that adapts to their workflows.
FSX was built to help close those gaps. For more than 35 years, we have supported government and legal professionals with technology designed around real workflows and reliable support when needed.

How FSX was formed
File & ServeXpress was formed in 2012 through the merger of two pioneering legal technology companies: CaseFileXpress and File and Serve, a former LexisNexis company. The merger brought together decades of experience, deep court relationships, and two teams that had spent years learning what it actually takes to serve the legal system well.
The vision behind it came from Tammy Carter, our Chief Executive Officer. She recognized that legal professionals were spending too much time on process and not enough on progress. She believed that courts, agencies, and law firms deserved technology built around the way they actually work, supported by people who genuinely understood the complexity of what they do every day.
"Technology should make workflows easier, not harder. We combine the power of our people, processes, and technology to deliver useful tools built by people who understand the nuances of court operations." — Tammy Carter, CEO and Founder

FSX TODAY
Since then, FSX has continued to evolve alongside the courts, agencies, and law firms we serve. In March 2026, FSX was acquired by Northlane Capital Partners, supporting continued investment in platform development, responsible use of AI, and long-term growth across court and government technology solutions.
Today, our focus remains on strengthening partnerships with our clients and supporting their modernization efforts. As a GovTech company, FSX serves as a bridge between courts, government agencies, and the legal professionals who rely on them, making that connection easier to navigate. We work to reduce friction in complex workflows, improve how systems connect, and ensure AI and security are intentionally built into how we design and deliver solutions. Through it all, we remain focused on providing dependable technology and support when it is needed most.
