Company Poised to Accelerate Modernization of Court and Government Agency Technology Platforms
Dallas, Texas — March 3, 2026 – File & ServeXpress, a leader in technology solutions for courts, government agencies, and law firms, announced today that it has been acquired by Northlane Capital Partners. The investment will accelerate the expansion and innovation of File & ServeXpress solutions, including advancements through responsible artificial intelligence, and strategic acquisitions.
“Northlane clearly understands and supports the File & ServeXpress vision for expansion and innovation,” said File & ServeXpress CEO, Tammy Carter. “We have continued to observe a need for improving operational efficiency through technology to improve services in courts, government agencies, and law firms across the country. We all want to make the investments necessary to expand and enhance services for our clients and the communities they serve.”
File & ServeXpress was formed in 2012 through the acquisition of two pioneers of eFiling and electronic service – CaseFileXpress and File & Serve, a former LexisNexis company. The resulting combination brought together products and teams across legal eFiling and service delivery, forming the industry leader. Since launching the first eFiling solution in Delaware in 1991 under the File & Serve brand, the combined company has been a leader in delivering modernized eSolutions. In 2016, Strait Lane Capital Partners acquired the company, enabling File & ServeXpress to expand its product portfolio beyond eFiling for courts and law firms, offer innovative case management solutions to government agencies, and expand services for courts and law firms.
The Northlane strategic growth investment in File & ServeXpress comes after a successful 2025 for the company. File & ServeXpress embraced AI through responsible, secure implementation within the product platform, modernized existing product solutions, and expanded the product portfolio and markets. Some client project highlights included:
- Implementing Delaware Centralized Accessible Secure Configurable Agile Digital Evolutionary project for integrated statewide eFiling.
- Rollout of statewide eFiling in the Wyoming Circuit Court.
- Launching the Illinois Secretary of State Court of Claims case management system.
Scott Kauffman, Partner at Northlane Capital Partners, commented, “File & ServeXpress has built a highly differentiated platform and earned a strong reputation as a trusted partner to courts and law firms nationwide. The Company’s deep roots in eFiling and long-standing court relationships create a durable competitive position that is hard to replicate. As the GovTech industry continues to modernize, we believe File & ServeXpress is uniquely positioned to lead that evolution. We’re excited to partner with Tammy and the File & ServeXpress team as they enter an exciting new phase.”
File & ServeXpress was advised by Lincoln International on the transaction.
